To install Mobile Phone Manager properly, you must have administrator rights on your PC, i.e. the user should be registered with the "Administrator" group.
Also go through the following steps after installation (while still logged in as Administrator):
After all drivers are installed, Mobile Phone Manager can be used from any account on the PC.
To connect your mobile phone to your PC via Bluetooth®, please consult the manual that was provided with your Bluetooth® stack. Customer Care can give no support regarding the installation and configuration of these stacks.
Please enter PIN on mobile before connecting to the Mobile Phone Manager. If the PIN on the mobile has not yet been entered the functionality of MPM cannot be guaranteed.
If you encounter an error "The RPC Server is unavailable" while using SmartSync with Microsoft Outlook98 or Outlook2000, please follow the instructions in the seperate SmartSync - OL Config ReadMe on how to configure Outlook for use with SmartSync.
If you previously had installed MPM on drive C: and uninstalled it, please start and quit Microsoft Outlook once to make sure the SmartSync add-in is properly de-registered. Without this step subsequent MPM installations on a drive other than C: may cause problems in Outlook ("The add-in could not be installed or loaded").
If you encounter an hint to "... upgrade your CDO library to 1.21" while using SmartSync with Microsoft Outlook, please follow the instructions in the seperate SmartSync - OL Config ReadMe on how to configure Outlook for use with SmartSync.
If you have problems setting up a connection with Mobile Modem Assistant via USB after using Mobile Phone Manager, please try the following workarounds:
UNC pathnames (ie. "\\server1\bckup") can not be used to specify the Backup Root Directory. Instead, map the shared folder to a network drive and use the drive letter to specify your Backup directory.
Working on the MMI of the mobile during an ongoing backup or restore process can cause problems, it is recommended not to use the mobile during this time.
Please note that not all items on the mobile phone can be backed up (ie. it is not possible to backup confidential notes).
Plug&Sync events are currently triggered only when a phone becomes connected on the day for the event. When a phone was already connected before midnight, Plug&Sync events are not automatically triggered at midnight. In this case, please disconnect and reconnect the phone in order to trigger your Plug&Sync events.
