Use of the DMTools Xtras with "Macromedia Shockwave"
For update
information about Xtras downloading see Shockwave
Xtras downloading overview (TechNote 14726).
All DMTools Xtras are compatible with Shockwave, and they
can be used on Internet published movies.
In order to enable the "auto-downloading" feature in your own movie
you have to follow these simple steps :
1. Append
at the end of the "xtrasinfo.txt" file these lines :
;
; DMTools Xtras by ALLOS S.p.A.
; http://www.dmtools.com/
[#namePPC:"DMPack1", #nameW32:"DMPack1.x32",#package:"http://www.dmtools.com/dmtools/shock/dmpack1"]
[#namePPC:"DMPack2", #nameW32:"DMPack2.x32",#package:"http://www.dmtools.com/dmtools/shock/dmpack2"]
[#namePPC:"DMXtremePack", #nameW32:"DMXtremePack.x32",#package:"http://www.dmtools.com/dmtools/shock/dmxtremepack"]
[#namePPC:"DMWaves", #nameW32:"DMWaves.x32",#package:"http://www.dmtools.com/dmtools/shock/dmwaves"]
[#namePPC:"DMStars", #nameW32:"DMStars.x32",#package:"http://www.dmtools.com/dmtools/shock/dmstars"]
2. Restart
"Director" and open a movie that uses DMTools xtras.
Open the "Modify->Movie->Xtras" dialog in
Director, and select the xtra in the list of xtras. The "Download
if needed" checkbox should now be enabled. (If it's not enabled, make
sure you typed correctly the lines above in step 2.) Click on the checkbox
and director will load information from the package file for each platform
and add it to the current movie. Save the movie in shockwave format.
3. Test
the shockwave movie in a browser.
If you followed the above instructions correctly then a "Warning Dialog"
should appear telling you that you are about to download the xtras from the
DMTools web site.
Note
about "DMFADE" xtra.
The "DMFade" xtra is NOT compatible with
shockwave because it conflicts with the "DMPack1"
xtra.
The "DMFade" xtra is only a reduced version of
"DMPack1", so "DMFade"
owners can use the "DMPack1" in substitution of
the "DMFade" for their Shockwave projects.
